It is true! Fashion is ahead of the curve. These looks from Comme De Garçons look like would fall right in with stylish women today, only that they were created in 1992! Titled, “Unfinished”, Rei Kawakubo’s collection was 144 pieces strong! Predominantly white, what really stood out were these fantastic patterned pieces and accessories. Chinese and Tibetan prints, checks, stripes etc, all mish-mashed together to stunning effect. Headpieces were oversized, in all variety of sunhat structure. Zip gloves were also the perfect accessory to the evening wear pieces. A lot of the clothing used a plastic finished material throughout the collection which makes me think that comfort was not the main order of the day. “I wanted to go back to the beginning and show that the finished product isn’t what’s interesting anymore.
