Limited edition Gucci ‘Epiphany’ Book by Ari Macropoulos documents the house’s men’s and women’s Pre-Fall 2016 collections. Said to celebrate Frieze New York and art in Manhattan in general, the book is shot in the direct and loose style Ari is famous for. To Dionysus!

So you know us. We some literary scholars here. Sometimes you gotta get out and check the competition know what I mean? Absorb some inspirations, soak in some rays. You see the sticker at the top right hand side? Well we read this book kinda to see what kinda of writing level wins you a Man Booker prize. This book ‘White Tiger’ by Aravind Adiga is an enjoyable read. Its written as a series of letters from an Indian boy, who traces his accent from rags to riches in modern India, to Mr. Wen Jiabao, the Premier of China during the book’s release. Its an entertaining tale, an enjoyable and easy read. What makes this Man Booker material eludes me. Its a tight little diddy don’t get me wrong, and for Mr. Adiga to win such prestige on his first attempt at a novel, that’s damn impressive. To say this is a memorable book from all the books I have read? I go deep bro, especially if you include comic books! That I can’t say.
書/POLITICALLY CORRECT 3
I came across the writer Chip Tsao reading my homie’s articles in HK Magazine. The only other column I found entertaining and witty consistently was Chip’s political column. It had a bit of a Hunter S. Thompson tinge to it which is really how I like my political commentary. Chip has some smart ass observations most of the time, and humors the reader with it. This book is more or less a collection of some of his articles. I don’t know if they are exclusive to HK magazine, but none are new. Warning. If you do not know, or care for Hong Kong politics and current events. This collection is entirely based upon them, so it would be rather difficult to understand without knowing the back stories.
摘錄/Book excerpt ::
(關於K-pop歌手PSY還有他的大熱單曲“Gangnam Style”/On Korean pop artist, PSY and his phenomenal hit, ‘Gangnam Style’)
“But unlike countless western backpackers who have benefited from the omnipresent poster images of heartthrob George Clooney in Singapore or Shanghai and earned one-night stands with Asian girls from local bars, the popularity of the South Korean pop star is unlikely to prompt many Asian males to break through the glass ceiling in New York and London, except maybe with Hollywood producers being tempted to replace Jackie Chan in the next installment of ‘Rush Hour.’ The new YouTube pop emperor is robust and noisy rather than sneaky and reticent, which is a big plus, but he is a bit too chubby to be called sexy. You don’t have to hide your eyes behind a pair of sunglasses forever if you’ve got a pair of eyes like Justin Beiber’s. The global hype, however short-lived it could be, gives us Asian men enough face. So even I would seize the moment, and head to Lan Kwai Fong this weekend to try my luck.”
