所以,现在,我有两位德国公婆,他们慢慢地对我进行文化侵蚀。饭菜是我们聚会的重头戏,我的新公婆一直不遗余力地向我推荐咖喱番茄酱。貌似这是德国人最喜爱的酱料,其实我还挺喜欢尝试不同的酱料的,所以我怀着迫切的心情品尝了一点,但遗憾的是它真得很令人失望。它的味道像番茄酱里撒了咖喱粉。我还以为德国人发现了某种奇迹般的完美融合,就好像那种去芜存青的筛选。遗憾的是并没有。介于此,不妨说一下,我也不喜欢维吉麦(澳洲酱),所以你懂的,我并无针对德国人的意思。
So now that I have 2 German in-laws, they are slowly putting me on to their cultural goodies. Meals are a big part of our gatherings and my newest in-law wanted to introduce me to curry ketchup. This is supposedly a German favorite, and since I like sauce on everything I was gung-ho. I was pretty stoked to try this but unfortunately it disappointed. It tasted like curry powder in ketchup. I was hoping the Germans had found a miraculous blend, kinda of a sum greater than its parts type thing. No sirey. To put this in context, I also don’t like vegimite, so I ain’t singling you out Germans.
