Yeah, yeah, yeah! This is the bomb. I ain’t downplayin’ the significance of Virgil’s appointment to head of men’s at LV, but I wasn’t feenin’ for the first collection at all. Dude is steady ridin’ W’s anyhow so what he care. This ad campaign, whoooo, is another page to his hit parade. Continuing the ambitious, 3 photographer, 3 set of ad images steez, that Ghesquière instituted in the womenswear division across the hall. Virgil Abloh hits a home run with his line up of photographers including Ines & Vinoodh, with a series titled, “Infancy, Childhood and Adolescence”, Mohamed Bourouissa with “The Painter’s Studio” (reimagination of the 1855 painting bearing the same name), and Raimond Wouda’s, “School Teens,” featuring teenagers in the color blocked T-shirts given to the 1500 young students Abloh invited to the Spring/Summer 2019 show.
