SPITGAN – What is a Zara?
Jesus – We originally wanted to call it Zorba, after Zorba the Greek, but there was a bar in the same town with the same name. When the owner of the bar found out, he approached us and asked us to change the name as he had used it first. As we had already printed the sign/logo, we were trying to figure out different combinations that would work. Zora wouldn’t do, as it was very close to a coarse name for a woman in Spanish; then we figured out it should be called Zara.

Flying a bit below the radar is the men’s collection for Sergio Rossi, SS2014. I guess it shouldn’t come as a surprise as a lot of labels are starting to do both sexes. Coupled with the boom in the men’s market, it makes perfect sense. Here are two styles we really dig. One, a perforated white leather boot and another, a leather loafer in a cool mustard and deep green color combo. Looks promising.
