FW18 TREND : CRUELLA DA VIL

Savage, sarcastic, and blunt, also someone who wants to live the rich boujee life surrounded by luxury- that’s you, you are Cruella De Vil. You wear a lot of black and white and your statement color is red, this sounds like everyone’s fashion choices- but really, you’re Cruella De Vil.

What’s the best way to portray your style? From colors, to furry pieces, to insta baddies, to stilettos. Let’s face it, we’re all pretty much just our least favorite villain at 5 years old, but our world has evolved us into such bitchy people, as the song goes “The world was such wholesome place until Cruella, Cruella De Vil”, oops.

Of course, the real fashion world will not let this chance slide, there’s a cartoon character that perfectly fits all our demographics! Checking off each and every trait of hers that is the symmetry of our existence and our interests. Let’s start easy, Dennis Basso’s take on this style has the main three elements: fur, color scheme, and an effortlessly expensive look. The only difference I see is the softness of the model’s face and the less sensual version of Cruella De Vil. MSGM styles the trendy sporty version of the look, again using only the classic “her” colors, and the statement fur on the shoulders casually being flashy; a perfect combination of heating trend “sportswear” and the devil who wears prada- or in this sense, MSGM.

If Alexander McQueen’s look doesn’t scream Cruella De Vil, I don’t know what does. That same expensive lady-like 1940’s vibe, the popping red lips against the monochromatic attire, with a very clear animal print pattern as the main focus of the dress. That is Cruella De Vil. Scroll down for more looks that share similar traits, I bet from now on, everytime you shop you’ll be reminded that Cruella De Vil has always been the root of our ultimate fashion inspiration. It’s confirmed, Disney is part of the illuminati.
