SUNDAY SCHOOL. JOHN GALLIANO FW94

Look at these amazing photos from John Galliano’s seminal collection by Guy Marineau. The back story to this collection is in eary 1994, John Galliano was sleeping on the floor of a friend’s flat. From this low point, with the help of new backers and other talented friends, Stephen Jones, Amanda Harlech, and hostess Sao Schlumberger, he created this defining collection of his career. A majestic fusion of Japanese kimonos and 1940’s tailoring. The comeback kid!

毒品/STEPHEN JONES HEAD PIECES FOR SHIAPARELLI COUTURE FW2014

Shiaparelli’s couture collection for FW14 was wild. That’s using ‘wild’ as a euphemism please note. One thing that did carry a noteworthy consistency, the headpieces designed by Mr. Stephen Jones! They were playful, quirky, and much to be coveted. They were the perfect finishing pieces to the collage of ideas that were the collection itself. The ball just keeps rolling for Mr. Jones, one of fashion’s many amicable characters. Salute!

Stephen Jones welcome to SPITGAN! The affable Stephen Jones is always up to something. Each season his creations are somewhere, for some big brand. He did the headpieces for Marc Jacobs’ finale at LV if you didn’t know. He’s too difficult to track. The pleasure of chopping it up with him briefly in SH a few years ago was cool as hell. Fitting that this was sighted in SH at 10 Corso Como no less! This just resonates as such a contemporary piece right now. Ah simplicity is best.
