SPITGAN PREMIERE : FUTUREWAVE X DANIEL SON, BEETLEJUICE

By Jordan C.

Toronto production duo The Lost Info (Futurewave & Ol Man 80zz) have been on the scene for a minute but it wasn’t until they started working with lyricists Daniel Son and Asun Eastwood that they popped up on our radar. While they dropped a full album with Brooklyn’s Justo The MC and Futurewave handled a whole project for Atlanta’s Heem Stogied last year, it was their work with buzzing emcees from their own city that shined the most. “Summer’s Fuckin Over” and “Vinyl Dust Blunts” off Asun Eastwood’s Hollywood Briggs album (both of which feature Daniel Son) displayed the kind of rich production that leaves a lasting impression. Then at the end of January, Daniel Son hit ‘em in the head with a Futurewave banger titled “Trust The Process” that had heads excited for what else these two have planned for 2018.

Well, today SPITGAN is proud to premiere the video for “Beetlejuice.” This joint is the official single off Futurewave’s upcoming producer album Wav.God, which also features tracks with Hus Kingpin, Nowaah the Flood, Heem Stogied, Justo The MC, plus an epic posse cut with Asun Eastwood, Recognize Ali, Flashius Clayton, and J Scienide.

The beat on “Beetlejuice” is mostly just a deep groove bass line and downtempo drums, but once in a while a heavily filtered vocal sample creeps in. With so much room to get loose, Son gets on his “Bakaow” shit and caves in the competition’s head. When he says, “Went to Venezuela just to buy me these Tims / that Ralph stay on me like a Siamese Twin,” we grinned so hard it almost hurt our cheeks. As if the combination of Futurewave and DS wasn’t a potent enough mixture, they get together once again with Mercenary Productions for some fire visuals. With convulsive camera work and wavy effects this video aims to recreate an acid trip Daniel Son experienced. Warning: This may trigger flashbacks for those that have done too many hallucinogens.

Wav.God drops on March 1st but pre-orders are up now at: Lostinfomusic.com
