為什麼N ike一直處於運動服的一哥位置?除了是因為它在運動服的科研上一直領先之外,它更緊貼潮流,所以深得運動型又要顧及時尚的男士的歡心。而今日能打開女性市場,則是因為它的細心。它比很多男人更懂女人心事,知道女人任何時候都要看起來身型高瘦,於是將經典的全白Air Force 1改良,除了有內增高更將鞋型改窄。我便買了一對送予我的愛妻,並對自己的這個決定感到十分自滿。

Oooh the bomb diggity! Just a little twist, and another classic. How malleable are these studs? Add a raised heel and slim it down, voila! This is why Nike is always in the game. Always on the tip of the tongue with style. Speaking of the tongue, if you picking at details the silver embroidery is the only thing I didn’t like. But it ain’t gonna affect anything. Got me a pair for wifey and I’m damn proud of my bad self!

SPITGAN!/STREET SNAPS JAMES BLAKE CONCERT HONG KONG PART1

是的,你可能會說“James Blake?不是有點晚嗎?”但請細心想一想,有時間限制的style (這裡指個人風格),那變相不就是一幫跟風的biter?在Spitgan的詞彙裡,那就是坊間所謂的fashionistas,流行甚麼便穿甚麼、毫無個性可言的時裝笨蛋。在演唱會當晚,我們找來一些擁有個性的粉絲拍照,他們比在時裝秀場上拼了老命演繹時尚的時裝笨蛋更有個人風格,時尚其實很簡單……

So we admittedly a bit late with this but style is eternal right? What is stylish if it doesn’t stand the test of time? Anyways we were privileged to attend the James Blake concert in Kowloon Bay, put on by Hong Kong’s very own, Your Mum, and took a few snaps along the way. Check the music afficionados in attendance!

是的,我們不是第一個讚Karen Walker這輯廣告大片的人,但當我們看到Karen Walker與United Nations ITC Ethical Fashion Initiative合作的這個充滿意義的計劃,及那些充滿震撼力的影像,我們覺得有必要在這裡報導一下。The Ethical Fashion Initiative的格言是“Not Charity, Just Work”,意指不靠他人,自力更生。他們藉著在當地推廣可持續發展業務,希望讓這些需要幫助的人士能自力更生,不再坐以待斃,或單單依賴其他國家的幫助。像是次計劃,肯尼亞當地的一些工匠為Karen Walker最新的太陽眼鏡系列製作眼鏡套,同時,Karen Walker還找來了這些工匠擔任是次廣告大片的模特,當中包括一些機械師、裁縫、製作經理、工人及製作精緻釘珠的馬賽人。肯尼亞的風景配搭Karen Walker這些非常酷的太陽眼鏡,出來的影像既充滿異地色彩又超現實。

這輯廣告大片引起了我們對這個低調的品牌的興趣,不管是她低調還是我們的忽視,這個來自新西蘭的品牌,一直再為當今的時尚女性設計漂亮的時裝及配飾,是時候對她多加留意。

Whoohaa! Ok we weren’t the first to cover this, but we HAD to cover this. Once we saw the stunning images produced for this collection, a collaboration between Karen Walker and the United Nations’ ITC Ethical Fashion Initiative, we had to get a piece. The Ethical Fashion Initiative’s motto is “Not Charity, Just Work” and their task is to promote sustainable business over aid dependency. Their involvement in this collection is linking Kenyan artisans with Karen Walker to produce the pouches for the eyewear. Taken a step further, Karen Walker also had the vision to shoot some of those involved for the stunning campaign. So what you see here are, machinists, cutters, tailors, production managers and metal workers as well as members of the Maasai group who create the more elaborate beading work. Paired with the Kenyan landscape, and the cool shades, it all looks exotic and surreal. Brilliant! Kudo’s for this one!

Side note : This also made us look for Karen Walker since she’s been quite in Hong Kong or maybe we have turned a deaf ear. Turns out she’s moving merrily along with jewelry and some chic-ass clothes for women in the land of NZ. Check her out. Don’t sleep!

Images from Nicolas Jaar’s recent concert in HK courtesy of SPITGAN magazine homie, Samuel Chiu. The setting was a showcase of minimal excellence, lights and musicians but in no way deterring from creating an A-grade ambiance. The project was Jaar’s, ‘Darkside’, accompanied by a lone guitarist, the two tore it up. Hong Kong turned out and left satisfied as much as a show every few years for fans can be. Keep on bringin’ it. Shouts to Your Mum productions for bringing in the boy!

So it was Hong Kong fashion week SS14 and we were very curious to see what was going on! Naturally we brought our camera along, well because it was ‘Fashion’ week!
