If you’ve been following Tyler, the Creator’s journey, you know there’s been tremendous change in his craft. From Goblin to Flower Boy, it’s been a steady transition from ‘hard as fuck’ to ‘chill and in touch with my emotions’. It is no surprise that Tyler’s 6th album: Igor, would generate so much excitement among his fanbase. I personally was eager to see how much his craft has changed from the previous album.
In Igor, Tyler explores his emotions unapologetically as he talks about love, being in love and breaking up. He also seems to be defining his sexuality as he talks about being in love with a man. Igor features Tyler singing a lot more than in his previous work; along with features from Kanye West, CeeLo Green and Playboy Carti. Let’s not forget about the absolutely amazing production also done by Tyler himself. To put it simply: it’s nostalgic, upbeat, a lot of harmonization and kinda makes me feel like I’m in a musical [???] LOL.
One last thing I absolutely have to shoutout is Tyler’s blond wig in the visuals for EARFQUAKE. Totally digging his style in all the visuals for this album.
