是的,我們不是第一個讚Karen Walker這輯廣告大片的人,但當我們看到Karen Walker與United Nations ITC Ethical Fashion Initiative合作的這個充滿意義的計劃,及那些充滿震撼力的影像,我們覺得有必要在這裡報導一下。The Ethical Fashion Initiative的格言是“Not Charity, Just Work”,意指不靠他人,自力更生。他們藉著在當地推廣可持續發展業務,希望讓這些需要幫助的人士能自力更生,不再坐以待斃,或單單依賴其他國家的幫助。像是次計劃,肯尼亞當地的一些工匠為Karen Walker最新的太陽眼鏡系列製作眼鏡套,同時,Karen Walker還找來了這些工匠擔任是次廣告大片的模特,當中包括一些機械師、裁縫、製作經理、工人及製作精緻釘珠的馬賽人。肯尼亞的風景配搭Karen Walker這些非常酷的太陽眼鏡,出來的影像既充滿異地色彩又超現實。

這輯廣告大片引起了我們對這個低調的品牌的興趣,不管是她低調還是我們的忽視,這個來自新西蘭的品牌,一直再為當今的時尚女性設計漂亮的時裝及配飾,是時候對她多加留意。

Whoohaa! Ok we weren’t the first to cover this, but we HAD to cover this. Once we saw the stunning images produced for this collection, a collaboration between Karen Walker and the United Nations’ ITC Ethical Fashion Initiative, we had to get a piece. The Ethical Fashion Initiative’s motto is “Not Charity, Just Work” and their task is to promote sustainable business over aid dependency. Their involvement in this collection is linking Kenyan artisans with Karen Walker to produce the pouches for the eyewear. Taken a step further, Karen Walker also had the vision to shoot some of those involved for the stunning campaign. So what you see here are, machinists, cutters, tailors, production managers and metal workers as well as members of the Maasai group who create the more elaborate beading work. Paired with the Kenyan landscape, and the cool shades, it all looks exotic and surreal. Brilliant! Kudo’s for this one!

Side note : This also made us look for Karen Walker since she’s been quite in Hong Kong or maybe we have turned a deaf ear. Turns out she’s moving merrily along with jewelry and some chic-ass clothes for women in the land of NZ. Check her out. Don’t sleep!

Stephen Jones,歡迎來到Spitgan!這個和藹可親的設計師經常新攪作,而每季你又總會在不同的地方見到他的作品,像今個春夏LV的T台上,模特謝幕時頭頂上的設計便是出自他的手筆。是的,他蹤影是有點飄忽,數年前在上海一個時裝活動中,我便曾與他說過笑,那次真是非常有趣的經驗。早前在上海的Corso Como又發現了他的作品。這數個簡單但有趣的頭飾,充滿時代感,再一次證明簡單即是美。

Stephen Jones welcome to SPITGAN! The affable Stephen Jones is always up to something. Each season his creations are somewhere, for some big brand. He did the headpieces for Marc Jacobs’ finale at LV if you didn’t know. He’s too difficult to track. The pleasure of chopping it up with him briefly in SH a few years ago was cool as hell. Fitting that this was sighted in SH at 10 Corso Como no less! This just resonates as such a contemporary piece right now. Ah simplicity is best.

有留意高級時裝的人,都應該知道近日的高級時裝界不斷從街頭時尚中取經,當中又以球鞋最受一眾設計師歡迎,就連一向只屬貴族及土豪的玩意──高級定制都出現天價版球鞋,有誰再敢說街頭時尚難登大雅之堂?的而且確,經過這些設計師推波助瀾,球鞋已成為了另一個生財工具。繼多個高級品牌推出球鞋系列後,又有另一個品牌加入戰團,希望在這個多肉多汁的市場中分一杯羹。是的,D olce & G abbana不是第一次推出球鞋,不過以往都是一些具有濃烈意大利土味的版本,可能近日受著其他競爭對手的影響,這對設計孖寶終於認真起來,這個全新男女球鞋系列非常有品味,並有多個顏色的選擇。球鞋終於出頭了!

You could hear it in the wind couldn’t you? The streets have taken over the runways. Sneakers in Haute Couture? Yep, Yep. This caught me by surprise though, pleasantly. Dolce & Gabbana always did some running shoes like Diesel did, but always on the Euro tip. I don’t know if they sold, they just weren’t to my tastes. These?! Hot damn. These are just the models we like. This is a full collection, don’t get it twisted. Each of the models come in a full range of stylish color ways suited to your flavor. The sneaker game is really real and its just gonna get deeper. Shotta!

不需多講,你應該知道關於打火機的禮儀吧。雖然每到派對過後,你的打火機會不知所蹤,但撫心自問,他人的打火機也曾經在歡愉過後,最終落在你的手裡。但無論如何,處心積累的偷竊行為罪不可恕,特別是這個價值人民幣28,900的打火機。為什麼打火機會這樣價值不菲?它有什麼獨特之處,可以同時點五根煙,又或是幫你捲一根大麻煙?對我來說,打火機好比雨傘,最終下場是……遺失,但若失掉了這個打火機的話,不要怪我不客氣!

You know the lighter game right? Everyone is involved. One rule of etiquette for the lighter game is you can’t knowingly take someone’s lighter. It ends up with you at the end of the night, cool. Premeditating the pilfer is a no-no though, so respect game. Why is there a market for a 28,900 RMB lighter? I don’t know. Does it have special features? Can it light 5 cigarettes at once? Roll you a joint? To me a lighter is like an umbrella, destined to be lost. If I lost something like this I would break something. Be warned.

Reebok, Reebok, you intrigue me. These new crossfits I’m really feeling just from a design and textile perspective. I guess they are designed with exercise in mind, but I am glad you have transcended that brief into something more grand.
