SPITGAN MAGAZINE: SPITTING MAD FIRE
After its dope interpretation of army surplus last season. Dior Homme returns for SS15 with a lot of clean suitings with stripes and color details. Its wearable as hell. This year its not about the sneaker (I’m not a big velcro strap fan), but the dress shoe. From the form to the embellishment its on point like needlework, the navy blue one especially. Navy blue is the predominant color of the collection and everything from the sunglasses to the bracelet detail carries the theme.
Is that a Rolex you ask? Yes hombre, that is a Rolex. This is a crossover capsule between Chocoolate X AAPE but that is the shocker. Rather sneaky the way they snuck in the Rolex watch. Its pretty sleek in all black with interchangeable wristbands. I could personally do without the Chocoolate or AAPE lettering and logo but then that would just be a Rolex naw? There’s some curious pieces in this collection of outerwear, with a water bottle and foldable cloth chair for sale. We thought the hoodie, and fisherman hat?, where nice stand alone pieces as well.
Well, well, what it do? Is this what they mean by a ‘fashion plate’? Literally carrying them down the runway? Some kinda play on the starving artist? Or ready to eat? Pret-A-Manger instead of Pret-A-Porter?! Self congratulatory slaps for that last one. In a blatant product placement, Versace SS15 Men’s show had the beautiful Versace X Rosenthal plates and china everywhere!
Liu Yang is the winner of the Tsinghua Fashion Design Award 2013. Also a graduate of the school. A cross over collection has appeared in collaboration with HK brand IZZUE. It consists of 5 pieces of which this denim jacket is the standout by far.
