DRIES VAN NOTEN SS17 MENS

Dries of course! Rarely does he not make the list of the best collections, men’s or women’s! He’s really out there competing with himself. This season’s menswear for me is another feather in the cap for sure! Playing on themes I am always impartial to. Mixing camo prints. Silver spacey materials and unconventional cuts all add up to create a sum greater than it’s parts! Salute to the master!

Nice to see Bottega Veneta come strong this season for men. Particularly impressive were the jacket options coming down the runway at speed. Plaid game strong!

毒品/SAINT LAURENT MEN’S FALL 2016

A few points here. 1) You gonna need crows to come pick the meat off your bones if you think you gonna fit in these clothes unless you petite like the ‘Purple One’, or have no hip bones. 2) Hedi Slimane’s last show for Saint Laurent (man-wise) was a tour-de-force for some swaggy leather jackets inspired by rock and in particular electric guitar motifs. 3) For all the meticulous control Hedi demanded, Saint Laurent was winning as a business model. 4) He was on point with his. Showing you didn’t need to reinvent the wheel every season to make hits! Salute to Hedi and his next adventures!

毒品/AALTO WOMEN’S FW16

Feeling the low slung waistline and color schemes of these pieces from Aalto. Clearly keeping the optimism in mind through the greyness of fall.
