ETRO SS17 MENS

Well the haus of Etro was always known for some prints. This season they matched it up with some suitings and it went from zero to hero for me. Always doing it more on the ‘loud’ side of things, this season the color palette is more rusted and dark. More wearable without callin’ attention to yourself too much which is just right most of the time.

DRIES VAN NOTEN SS17 MENS

Dries of course! Rarely does he not make the list of the best collections, men’s or women’s! He’s really out there competing with himself. This season’s menswear for me is another feather in the cap for sure! Playing on themes I am always impartial to. Mixing camo prints. Silver spacey materials and unconventional cuts all add up to create a sum greater than it’s parts! Salute to the master!

毒品/COACH 1941 MEN’S SS17

Oooh you betta hope for a cool Spring this 2017 so you can go around flossing these layered looks from Coach 1941, and designer Stuart Vevers! It’s a dope collection filled with a variations of jackets; leather jackets, trenches, and bomber jackets. Some of the most coveted I have seen this season, especially with the added hand draw artworks of one Gary Baseman, himself of a fair amount of fame in his own right. If you don’t know you betta ask somebody! The collection is strong in prints showcasing Gary’s work and plays to a darker palette of reds and blacks. It definitely packs a upper cut of cool! Get you some.

M.I.A. CHRISTOPHER KANE MEN’S SS17

Yo WTF is up?! Remember when Christopher was one of the leading lights of the mid 2000 generation? He was buzzin with Gareth Pugh, with dem girls from the west, Cali, um..Rodarte! They all kinda came in around the same time if my hazy memory doth recall correct. I also recall a few years back C. Kane received quite an infusion of money into his business to help it grow and then started putting out monster collections. Monster not used here in reference to quality of output, but quantity. Hitting almost Armani territory in seasonal looks that for me haven’t carried any of his early promise and ingenuity. Another season for men here that seems rather ho-hum. The bib is kinda cool, and the prints referencing a firing range on both the pants and the jacket back, but damn really? It ain’t blowing my mind, where you at man?!
